Welcome to Water Prairie:
Supporting Families, Celebrating Uniqueness
Parenting a child with disabilities can feel like navigating uncharted waters. I understand. My own journey, filled with both challenges and triumphs, inspired the creation of Water Prairie. I’ve evolved from sharing my experiences through the “Water Prairie Chronicles” podcast to building a comprehensive resource for families like yours.
What Water Prairie Offers:
- IEP Coaching: Navigating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process can be overwhelming. I help parents of children with disabilities navigate IEPs, advocate with confidence, and prepare their child for the future.
- The Water Prairie Chronicles Podcast & YouTube Channel: Dive into insightful conversations with experts, parents, and individuals with disabilities. Listen to the podcast on your favorite platform or watch the video version on YouTube. I also provide special education news updates and answer parent questions about special education.
- Resource-Rich Blog: Explore the Water Prairie blog for practical tips, expert advice, and inspiring stories. I cover a wide range of topics related to disabilities, education, and family life.
- Community Connection: Join the Water Prairie Facebook group to connect with other parents, share experiences, and find support. Sign up for the monthly newsletter to stay informed about upcoming events, new resources, and special education news.
- Sensory & Educational Tools: Visit my Etsy shop for sensory story kits designed for young children, and story starters for teachers and homeschool parents. Find journals for parents and caregivers on Amazon.
- Comprehensive Resource Database: I’m building a curated database of valuable resources to educate, support, and encourage individuals with disabilities, their families, and allies.
The Water Prairie Mission:
I believe in creating a world where every child’s unique abilities are celebrated and every family feels empowered. Water Prairie is here to provide the tools, knowledge, and community you need to thrive.
